Project Controls Manager, Immingham
Job Summary:
The Project Controls Manager will lead the project controls function for the Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal Project in Immingham. This role will oversee risk, cost, planning, and production control processes, ensuring effective monitoring, reporting, and mitigation strategies. The manager will coordinate with package managers, commercial managers, and other stakeholders to maintain the works/cost/risk breakdown structures, align risks with P6 activities (using Primavera), and identify baseline deviations while implementing corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of Work, Cost, and Risk Breakdown Structures.
Ensure the effective implementation and adherence to Project Controls Management processes, with a particular focus on risk management.
Oversee the risk management procedures and ensure the Risk Management Plan remains current.
Coordinate integration between the programme, estimates, cost control, and risk management systems using project software (e.g., P6 and Prism).
Manage and review the project risk register, producing regular risk reports and facilitating risk management with SPMs.
Oversee variations and change control processes to maintain the performance measurement baseline.
Analyse trends, conduct cost checks, identify risks, and guide risk owners in assessing and mitigating risk costs.
Engage with stakeholders across the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with project controls processes.
Support the preparation of presentation materials for Performance Measurement Updates, focusing on risk management insights.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
Strong proficiency in IT systems, particularly advanced Excel.
Understanding of contract types and contract documentation processes.
Expertise in project planning, risk management, and cost control techniques.
Knowledge of Primavera P6 and EVA techniques.
Strong understanding of risk management processes and cost risk assessment methodologies.
Proven leadership and team management skills in project controls environments.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
Significant experience in Cost, Planning & Risk management within large-scale construction projects.
In-depth understanding of construction operations and project controls functions.
Previous experience leading project controls teams is preferred.
